The unique aspect of Ghan House is that you can have exclusive use of the whole house & gardens
which means, no other guests apart from your own!
Alternatively, for smaller weddings, you can hold your Civil Ceremony followed by dinner in your very own private dining room.
Beautiful views of Slieve Foy, the Mourne Mountains & Carlingford Lough - from the gardens, all the public rooms & bedrooms.
We have 8 ft high stone walls enclosing the gardens, adding to the privacy & uniqueness.
Most of the weddings we have are between 50 to110 with extra evening guests. However the most our drawing room will hold is 55 guests. If more than this, then we use the ballroom and/or the ground floor dining room.
The easy layout of the house and the fact that you have taken us over for the day actually makes for a more sociable environment rather than just one big function room - I like to think of it more free range than all cooped up in 1 big function room - you can escape the
band/DJ and join your own guests in your own bar or relax in front of a log fire in the lounge or chill out in the gardens knowing you'll only bump into your own guests!
Our menus reflect the reputation our restaurant has earned over the years.
Exclusive use means we do not take any lunch on the day of your wedding - you can arrive when you want & have your wedding dinner when you want. The Exclusive Use rate includes the use of the bridal suite. Exclusive use also allows you to bring your own wine and pay a service charge fee per 70cl bottle.
This means you have the whole house and gardens just to you & your guests.
We have 12 bedrooms, 11 with bath & shower en-suite & a single room with shower room en-suite.
